Produce & Triz "Mixed Greens"
A chance meeting in 2004 by Austin Darnell, The Produceman, and Nick Trotta, DJ Triz, would prove to be the start of one of Athens, GA's most potent hip-hop duos aptly named "Produce & Triz".
Recognizing a common affinity for 90's-era rap and "basement" mixtapes, Produceman, of The Deaf Judges, and Triz, of T'n'T, began performing together and over the next few years would establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Athens, GA. Playing their brand of classic hip-hop, the two decided to create their own "basement" mixtape and thus "Mixed Greens" was born.
"Mixed Greens" is a 10-song mixtape drawn from some of Produce & Triz' favorite tracks, featuring beats by DJ Premier, Rjd2, Erick Sermon, Mobb Deep, The Alchemist and Necrodamus. A labor of love, the tape serves as a tip-of-the-cap to all the pioneers who preceeded them, walking through hip-hop darkness with torches blazing.
